I grew up in a small town in Mississippi where I spent the majority of my life in school. I earned my AA degree first, and this past May I graduated with my BA in psychology and a minor in professional writing. I love reading, writing, research, and learning. The reasons people do what they do fascinate me. I’m currently in graduate school still trying to figure out exactly what I want to do with my life (TBD).
Not too long ago, my grad school classmates got together and wrote out superlatives for each other. They assigned each other titles like “best dressed” or “most likely to be a drug dealer,” and mine left a pretty big impression on me. In black sharpie marker on a white plastic plate, mine read “most likely to be a professional blogger.” It was a joke (obviously), but it got me thinking why not? I love writing, and I always have so what do I have to lose?
I am no life expert by any means, and I definitely still have a lot to learn. However, I have been through a lot in my short 21 years of existence, and I would love to share a thing or two that I have picked up along the way. I may not know everything, but I do know a little bit about a lot of things that I find important.
Ideas float through my head daily, so why not put them down on paper…. virtually-speaking. So here I am giving this thing a shot because I promised myself to take more time doing things that I actually like. Life is hard and ugly and beautiful all at the same time. Let’s try to figure this thing out together because who really knows what the heck is going on?
